once again i've neglected this blog for almost a month. anyhow, two main things happened in the month of july. both under the same name, except different adventures. yep, you've probably guessed it. Harry Potter.

the book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. well, i expected the delivery to be on the following monday after the release at saturday, but turns out the poor guy popped out at my doorstep. anyhow when i took the book, realising it was smaller, as in thinner than the previous two, i was rather disappointed. for once i thought that the ending to it all should be an lengthy one, since the last chapters of any fanfic usually comprises of the most words, with the exception of epilogues.

which ever way. i sat down to read, to my dismay and amusment how the story progressed. i'm lazy to type the thing here, but maybe some pointers.

Snape, the one we were screaming insults, curses and hexes at him at the end of the 6th book, turned out to be an emerald in the rough. he's in love with Lily Evans, also known as Lily Potter in later years, big surprise to me but apparently expected result for some others. he killed Dumbledore on Dumbledore's orders himself, which is rather twisty to me. And so he emerged hero, and earned Harry's respect, which he wouldn't know and appreciate anyway.

Dumbledore, turns out he isn't the grandfatherly powerful wizard everyone's respected and in fact there's a dodgy past hidden behind the elaborated facade. that aside, since he's dead already.

talk about dead, many people died in the book, and the one who is rummored to die in the end did not. major disappointment... i'm talking about Harry Potter himself, not Voldermort.

book is one thing, the next is the movie, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

major, major disappointment. i'd rather watch surf's up twice actually...

boos for the movie is because of the twisting of the line to suit the movie, rather weird for someone who has spent a great deal of time reading the darn book. then the actors seems to be in another zone rather than acting... mainly memorising lines instead of being in the character...

and umbridge seriously doesn't look like a toad... which is supposed to be a trademark to the character... and it ain't exciting on the whole, except the duels...

for some reason or another, there was a big difference in dueling. like this one better though, since it's more realistic than the previous ones where there's a huge time gap between everything.

and music, honestly as i am listening to it and typing at the same time, sounded horrible. no doubt someone tried to put in a slice of his own style, i feel so sorry for John Williams...

anyhow, that should conclude the month of July. with nothing but harry potter.

it's almost one month since i last posted. well, better have something up here, before i really forget this place.

let's see what happened during the past almost one month...

appeals failed - expected

guitar gathering - not exactly fun if you ask me

new movies in theaters - shrek (not fun), surf's up (not bad)

movies bought or ripped off the net - charlie's angels, hoodwinked, love actually

sentosa trip - fun, if only it wasn't that period of the month and became the twin of charcoal

comics - fairytail (fell in love with it), saiyuki (finally came out)

anime - history's strongest disciple kenichi, nodame cantabile, rave

new maid - thank god someone who finally knows what i'm screamin'

application to SIM - still not here.

ok, that's too brief of a summary.

anyway, movies started to disappoint me, but was brought back, thanks to a particular and unexpected anime, 'Nodame Cantabile', or 'Orchestra de Nodame'. or ... whatever.

story's bout this girl and this guy (obvious...) girl can't read scores but prides herself for memory by ear and plays songs with a crazy style of tempo. guy's a school prince who wants to be a conductor but stuck in japan with piano and violin cos he can't fly.

girl's got a weird personality, guy's pretty much an annoying perfectionist. (i still hate him now, quite hate him....)

ended up together, and flying to paris to further studies.

yup, that's how it went, not sure if it's the same for manga cos it's still continuing.

anyway, that is the anime that made a turn during my holidays... got me depressed and repressed.

why?

because as a pianist i can't play half of what they are playing...

so that day, did a list up to 2 am in the morning when everyone else is busying making horrible noises through sleep. and went Esplanade the next day, forgot that it was Youth's Day (crowded place), and spent two bloody hours, scouring the 7 - 8 shelves of archives, ended up with two pieces only...

TWO!!...

fine... then Qianz sorta hooked on it. i told her about it because she's also playing music and that the first episode is a showcase of a phenomenal attempt of Mozart's Sonata in D Major K448 for two pianos.

strangely about this is that, a few weeks ago (and i mean weeks), during a search which i embarked on the vast web to locate this beautiful yet devilishly irritating piece by our famous devil genius at music, i found this little sharing site where it has this song which i am painstakingly searching for. and it featured this crazy playing by two people whom i predicted it to be either a couple who is madly in love with each other, or a pair of twins. strangely, it was at the back of my mind that there are two people in the world who can manage such a phenomenal attempt. and apparently, my world is small, so whatever i have said is crap.

anyway, 17 minutes into the first episode of Nodame, several bells in my mind rang as like a fire engine rushing to the aid of a falling building. i knew the song had to be that version i heard some moons ago. and true enough. i was right.

talk about fate...

anyway, after the final episode which i shed 6 pieces of tissue paper worth of tears, i drew up a bloody list of the songs in there. and embarked on the same journey to find the scattered pieces. and i did find most of them, with the exception of Mr Bartok, my ex-teacher's teacher's teacher's teacher, and this irritating Rachmaninoff's piano concerto which came in a full orchestra score that's worth 114 pages... oh yea, and thanks to Qianz for two pieces in the list.

and just a few hours ago, i finish ripping the OSTs of Nodame from the web (talk about fixing up the torn threads of the web, spider), and to my amazement and astonishment and annoyance, the songs came with japanese words without the grace of even the composer's name... whatever happened to credit giving?

i think that's enough of Nodame, before i really sink into depression...

oh yea, i bought this octopus plushie... (looks at it) and... it's standing at the edge of my table, looking at the door...

red octopus, with tentacles like that of a spider... and nose, or snout of a pig... with one nostril though...

talk about weird... i've got two tentacally things on my table right now... Davy Jones would make three, if he's here...

let's see, kenichi... nothing much to talk about. basically a guy who gets picked on a lot in school and goes to this dojo where they teach karate, muai thai, jujitsu, kenpo, weaponry. lot's of humor of the minute, and story's getting draggy, giving the feeling of naruto and bleach... especially bleach. perhaps the one of the two reasons why i watch it is because of the Boxer in it.. hehehe... never mind.

then fairytail. nice manga, bout a world like those in RPG games, where there are mages, knights blah blah blah, get what i mean? story revolves this guy, (i prefer to see the story in that way) who's a fire mage in a wizard guild called 'Fairytail'. pretty cool guild it is cos the people usually do their missions with flashy endings, such as demolition of a harbour, crushing of a tower, explosion of a mansion, this and that. but the leader of the guild tells his members to ignore the complaints from the council, for magic cannot grow if people are bounded by imbecile rules and encourages them to walk their own paths.

well, my fav character is the ice mage, Gray, who is not on good terms with Natsu, and the little cat who can fly called Happy. cute cat... hate the girl in the manga anyway. sounded soo much like Sakura from Naruto...

been working on the OF these few days... just that scene took me 3 nights to finish... not that i'm going to post it...

okay, enough blabbling... who's listening, or reading anyway?
